IoT Discovery by Marek Splichal
Fiware IoT Discovery Generic Enabler (http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers/iot-discovery)
This GE is meant as a meeting point for IoT Context Producers to register their Sensors and Things and Context Consumers to discover them, using OMA NGSI-9 messaging protocol and/or Sense2Web API that supports Linked Open Data.
IoT Discovery GE consist two modules:
- NGSI-9 Server
- Sense2Web Linked-data platform
NGSI-9 Server provides repository for storing NGSI-9 entities and allows NGSI-9 clients to register context information about Sensors and Things and discover these informations using ID, attribute, attribute domain and entity type.
Sense2Web is platform providing semantic repository for IoT providers to register and manage semantic descriptions (in RDF/OWL) about their “Things”, whether they be Sensor/Actuator Devices, virtual computational elements (e.g. data aggregators) or virtual representations of any Physical Entity. It also provides discovery of stored data using: description in RDF, probabilistic search mechanism, semantic queries using SPARQL.
